Welcome

Welcome to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center website for atrial fibrillation research.

Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute, in alliance with Meharry Medical College, is engaged in research to determine how the risk for developing atrial fibrillation may be inherited. We currently have more than 1500 volunteers participating, and continue to collect genetic material (DNA) and data from patients and their families. This bank of information has become an internationally known resource from which to study questions about the causes and treatment of atrial fibrillation.

The knowledge we gain would not be possible without the contribution of each volunteer, we appreciate your involvement and welcome your comments or questions.
